HEI Schools St Leonards, a combination of Australian and Finnish early childhood education, will open soon and deliver high quality care to children from 6 weeks to 5 years old.

To foster children’s holistic growth, we create an all-rounded environment based on deep scientific research by our founding partner - The University of Helsinki, Finland.

At HEI Schools St Leonards we believe that freedom of exploration and play are crucial to children’s development. We promote children’s curiosity, creativity and proactivity through daily routines and special events.

Clare Stewart

Centre Director

I am Clare Stewart the Centre Director for Hei Schools St Leonards.

I have been working in the Early Childhood Sector for the past 30 years with 20+ years as a Centre Manager. I have been in Sydney for the past 20 years after training and teaching in New Zealand then travelling through Europe and North America for several years.

I am a mother to a courageous, strong, fun-loving daughter who has reminded me to find the fun and have a laugh in everyday life.

I am passionate about making sure children are nurtured, safe and included throughout their day with us. I love to use books, stories, and music, in particular singing with the guitar, as a way to include all children and find a sense of calm and fun. 

I like to ensure our team is respectful and passionate about the time they spend with children. We are on this journey together as a team with families and children encouraging curiosity and thinking outside the box with problem-solving and collaboration.

Seeing children grow up to be confident learners and with a love to explore and question the world around them is rewarding and inspiring.

I look forward to developing long term respectful relationships with all our families and community and working together alongside our team of dedicated educators to ensure all our children have a place in the world to grow into the best person they can be.
